Lisa Bouyer

Director of Project Management

What is your role and function at WPS?

I am the Director of Project Management. I plan and manage all cross-functional projects within the organization, which includes projects based around technology, products, marketing, production, etc.

What issues or needs are you an advocate for inside the company?

Organization and execution! I find that productivity comes from being organized. I like to get stuff done!

How long have you been at WPS?

I have been at WPS since February 2011.

Where are you from? Where did you grow up?

Born and raised in Southern California. I grew up in Orange County and continue to live there with my family.

What are three personal things about you people probably wouldn't know?

  1.   I am addicted to endorphins. I hate running but do it often just for my addiction.
  2.   I am entrepreneurial minded! I always have a new idea circulating in my head.
  3.   I’ve decided to become Buddhist.

What's a big obstacle you've had to overcome in your life or career?

My biggest obstacle was public speaking. I used to be extremely shy (I know, hard to believe). At one point in my life, I was shaken anytime I had to speak in front of a large group; now I enjoy it. I learned that facing your fears makes you grow.

What is your personal connection to the WPS mission?

My personal connection is that we are doing something special here. When I go home at night, I know that our work matters. We are doing something that allows parents to have a better understanding of their children, which is priceless.

What is your educational background?

I have a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership from Chapman University. I also have a certification in project management. I continuously look for creative ways in which WPS can use project management to drive our objectives.

What is something you are currently studying or learning?

Currently, I am working on another project management certification. I am a student for life.

What do you enjoy most about working at WPS?

I enjoy the people the most. The energy in the office is positive and warm. You will not be able to walk through our building without seeing several smiles and hearing a hello or two. It’s a wonderful place to be!

What did you do before WPS?

I have worked for several companies in various industries in project management. I have been a project manager since I was 5 years old when I made my first “to do” list.
